Please also use the following text when citing or crediting the Levy CIMAR, including in a slide presentation, poster, or paper.

Grants and Pilot Funding
Applying for External Grants:
For their AMR-related projects, Levy CIMAR Core Faculty are encouraged to apply for grant funding through our Center, and we’ve made the process simple for you.
Levy CIMAR grants should address topics relevant to:
-
- Therapies for treating microbial infections that are resistant to antibiotic therapy or fundamental mechanisms of development of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
- Policies that describe and/or mitigate the spread of AMR infections (including antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention).
- Educational or training programs that address AMR awareness and understanding.
Faculty requesting to submit a grant application through CIMAR must obtain approval from their respective Department Chair (Tufts University) or Division Chief (Tufts Medical Center) agreeing to the submission of the application with CIMAR oversight. Once this is done, faculty should complete the CIMAR Grant Submission Request Form and email it to CIMAR@tufts.edu, CC’ing the Chief or Chair.
Investigators from Tufts Medical Center and/or Tufts University’s participating schools (Tufts University’s School of Medicine, the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, and the School of Arts and Sciences) will annually receive, for discretionary use, the equivalent of 5% return from the indirect costs generated from any newly funded Levy CIMAR grant(s). This does not apply to submissions for which the indirect costs were abated. If a Levy CIMAR Core Faculty member does not have an appointment at Tufts Medical Center or at one of the aforementioned participating schools at Tufts University, said investigator can apply for grants without completing the Grant Submission Request Form as there will be no return from indirect costs.
Please note:
-
- If an Investigator is submitting an AMR grant for renewal, it can be designated as Levy CIMAR but the funded renewal will not result in the 5% indirect cost return.
- For multiple-PI grants or grants with subcontracts, this indirect cost return will be distributed to each eligible PI in proportion to their subcontract ICR.
Levy CIMAR Pilot Funding:
The Levy CIMAR has funded several promising pilot projects in its first two years. However, please note that as of 7-15-20, we are temporarily not accepting new pilot applications due to the COVID19 pandemic.
